Peaceful Cottage was originally a pre famine thatched cottage and was renovated in early 1990. It is surrounded by the original pre famine stone wall and beautiful sheep farms. You'll throughly enjoy living like true Irishman while staying at Peaceful Cottage.
Peaceful Cottage is located near the town Shrule in County Mayo, Ireland. Shrule is small parish centrally located for all your trips around County Mayo and Galway City. If you like sightseeing, Shrule is also close to Cong, Ballinrobe and Connemara. It is within easy reach of Lough Corrib and Lough Mask.
For your convience Shrule and the neighboring town of Headford have several pubs, a post office, butcher and several grocers.
Wonder the historic ruins of the Ross Errill Friary founded in 1351 by the Franciscan Monks in Headford.
Shrule has the ruins of six Norman Castles that can be found in the parish. The Normans made Shrule a market town, which stayed as such until the twentieth century. The last fairs and marts being held in the 1960s. Shrule is also close to Ballinrobe Golf Club and Angling on the Corrib.
